MINISTRY SUPPORTS AIRLINE INNOVATION TO STABILIZE TICKET PRICES

INDONESIA’S Ministry of Transportation supports the innovations carried out by airlines in order to stabilize air ticket prices in order to create a balance in the aviation industry, namely more affordable fares and on the other hand the aviation industry can also rise stronger.

Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi while attending the Super Air Jet First Anniversary at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Monday (8/22) said we support the innovation that will be carried out by Lion Group with BNI to provide affordable fares, especially on weekdays during the day. This will also change the habits of people who usually use planes in the morning or evening and on holidays.

“I also invite all stakeholders in the aviation sector, especially airlines, to jointly recover and rise faster, in accordance with the moment of the Indonesian Presidency at the G20 activities, even though we are currently faced with a difficult situation due to limited aircraft and crew/crew due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.

Budi Karya explained that the transportation sector contributed 21.27% to Indonesia’s economic growth which in the second quarter of 2022 grew above 5%. This growth momentum must be carried out consistently so that it does not decline.

In particular, the Minister of Transportation expressed his appreciation to the Lion Group for innovating and implementing flight services well, in an effort to accelerate the recovery of the national aviation industry.

“I also appreciated all stakeholders in the aviation sector who had achieved achievements, such as the best airport and the best airline,” he concluded.
