THESE ARE THE ADDITION OF 11 COUNTRIES THAT GET VISA ON ARRIVAL FACILITIES

IN THE Circular of task execution, the Director General of Immigration Number IMI-0700.GR.01.01 of 2022, dated September 14, 2022, stated that foreigners can attend business meetings with a visa on arrival (VoA) or a visa-free visit (BVK).

This provision also regulates the addition of 11 countries subject to visa on arrival, namely Albania, Andorra, Chile, Ecuador, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Palestine, San Marino, Suriname, Uzbekistan, and the Vatican.

Meanwhile, the subject of the visa-free permanent visit facility consists of nine countries that are members of ASEAN, namely Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

“That’s right, in the latest Circular there are 11 additional VoA subject countries in addition to the addition of types of activities that are permitted to use BVK and VoA facilities. Among them are tourist visits; government duties; business talks; purchase of goods; meeting visits; or transit,” explained the Sub-coordinator, Public Relations of the Directorate General of Immigration, Achmad Nur Saleh, quoted from the official Immigration website, Tuesday (20/9).

Achmad further explained that there was a change in the immigration checkpoint (TPI) which provided BVK and VoA facilities.

He added that it should be noted that there was a change in the TPI which provided both BVK and VoA facilities, especially the Air TPI. There are several additions to TPI, but the previous provisions still provide BVK or VoA facilities. However, not anymore.

Some of them are Adisumarmo Airport – Surakarta; Raja Haji Fi Sabilillah – Tanjung Pinang; Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II – Palembang; Syamsuddin Noor – Banjarmasin.

He explained, to obtain BVK or VoA, foreigners must show a valid nationality passport and still valid for at least 6 months; a return ticket or a one-way ticket to continue the journey to another country; as well as proof of payment for VoA submissions.

He revealed that the VoA tariff is still IDR500,000 as well as the extension. The residence permit originating from VoA can be extended only once for a period of 30 days and is carried out at the immigration office according to the area where the foreigner lives while in Indonesia.

“The residence permit cannot be transferred or converted to another type of residence permit,” concluded Achmad. [sources/photo special]
