THE GOVERNMENT ASKS FOREIGN TOURISTS NOT TO HESITATE TO VISIT INDONESIA

THE INDONESIAN government through the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy asked tourists, especially foreign tourists, not to hesitate to visit Indonesia, this was conveyed regarding the Draft Criminal Code (RKUHP) by the House of Representatives (DPR) some time ago.

Menueur Minister of Tourism & Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno said that the Indonesian Government is still guided by the assurance that the private sphere of the public, including tourists, will be guaranteed so that the comfort and security of the private sphere of tourists while traveling in Indonesia is always maintained.

The hotel industry, he said, had been briefed and his party would facilitate any potential misunderstandings. The hotel is sure to always guarantee the confidentiality of the data of tourists who stay overnight.

“Currently the government together with all related parties are preparing detailed rules and SOPs for tourism activities that can guarantee the safety and comfort of visiting tourists. In addition, socialization continues to be carried out not only to tourism circles but also to domestic tourists and foreign tourists so that there will be no misinterpretation or misunderstanding of the Criminal Code,” he said.

Furthermore, Sandiaga also said that he would continue to strengthen coordination with various related parties to continue to socialize the new law which would be effective in 3 more years, namely 2025, especially for countries with foreign tourist markets, so that these tourists would not hesitate to visit Indonesia. .

“The tourism industry respects personal things that are carried out responsibly. Then, related to the ratification of the Draft Criminal Code (RKUHP) by the People’s Representative Council (DPR) some time ago, Memparekraf said, this is a manifestation of the running of a constitutional state system whose main goal is to protect the people of Indonesia, then the regulation will only take effect 3 years after it is ratified,” said Sandiaga.

He explained, in fact there were no substantive changes related to this article when compared to Article 284 of the old Criminal Code. The difference lies only in the addition of parties entitled to complain. The threat of new penalties can apply if there are parties who complain or in other words complaint offenses.

The Rules of the Criminal Code stipulate that the party who can complain is the husband or wife for people who are married, while for people who are not married are the parents or their children. Thus, without complaints by legal persons, no party has the right to take legal action. [antaranews/photo special]
