STARTING MARCH 1, REGULAR MANADO-JAPAN FLIGHTS WILL BE OPENED SOON

GOOD news for the people of North Sulawesi, especially travelers and exporters, because, starting March 1, 2023 regular flights from Manado-Narita, Japan, will be opened soon.

According to the Governor of North Sulawesi, Olly Dondokambey said, if previously Manado-Japan flights were charter and specialized for cargo, in March it will be together with passengers. March 1 will open regular flights together with passengers. This means that it is no longer rented.

Governor Olly Dondokambey emphasized that his party is trying to realize the regular flight, because Bali and Jakarta have also started the same flight. So that cargo is cheaper to Japan.

The existence of this regular flight is also an opportunity for exporters. If usually, cargo shipments go through charter flights or rentals, with this regular flight, the cost of shipping cargo is much cheaper. Because half the cost has been borne by passengers through ticket purchases.

Much different, when compared to charter flights. The plane only flies with cargo without passengers, so the cost is more expensive.

It is known, this regular flight is the vision of the North Sulawesi Provincial Government which continues to fight for. Where the first step starts with the charter flight which has been started since the last few years. This is to maximize the economic growth of North Sulawesi according to the vision of ‘Advanced and Prosperous as Indonesia’s Gateway to the Asia-Pacific’.

With this regular flight, it will automatically encourage an increase in the trade balance. Currently, North Sulawesi’s trade balance has an average surplus of IDR900 billion to IDR1 trillion every month. It is expected that with the regular Manado-Narita Flight, Japan, the foreign exchange generated by North Sulawesi exports will increase. [sources/photo special]
