INDONESIAN CULINARY SPECIALTIES MUST BE INTRODUCED ABROAD

THE MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy said that Indonesian culinary specialties should be introduced abroad. Indonesia has various types of popular culinary delights such as fried chicken, rawon, satay and fried rice. Therefore, the promotion of Indonesian culinary globally must be encouraged so that they are not unable to compete with foreign culinary delights

According to the Expert Staff of the Minister for Innovation and Creativity of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Restog Krisna Kusuma said we must know what our strengths are and how to develop them because we have good content both art content and culinary content but if we can’t push it until the whole world yes, we lose.

“In addition to a variety of foods, Krisna said that coffee beans from Indonesia are also known to have the best quality in the world and are widely used by foreign coffee makers. All over the world the best beans (coffee beans) are in Indonesia, but when we come to America, for example, to Starbucks Seattle, they do not understand what Sumatra is, even though Sumatran coffee, Manggarai coffee, and Gayo coffee are used all over the world,” said Krisna.

Because of that, he reiterated that efforts were needed to increase the introduction of domestic culinary diversity to the world community so that Indonesia and its culinary products could be recognized globally.

Previously, East Java’s signature beef soup, rawon, was named the most delicious soup in the world according to the “10 Best Rated Soups in the World” ranking list released by the Taste Atlas on Monday (31/7).

Apart from rawon, the “10 Best Rated Fried Chicken Dishes in the World” ranking list from the Taste Atlas, published on the same day, named fried chicken from Indonesia as the most delicious fried chicken dish in the world.

As a form of Tourism Ministry’s strategy in promoting Indonesian culinary on the global stage, Krisna explained that there was the Indonesia Spice Up the World program.
