THE INDONESIA MICE Youth Challenge was successfully held with the aim of finding the best potential among tourism and event management students from all over Indonesia. This competition was initiated by the Indonesian Exhibition Industry Association (ASPERAPI) in cooperation with the Indonesian Congress and Convention Association (INCCA) and fully supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
Organizing Committee Chairman Yuda Imam said that after a rigorous selection process, six finalist teams were selected. Two teams came from Prasetya Mulya University, two teams from Jakarta State Polytechnic, one team from Bali International Polytechnic and one team from NHI Tourism Polytechnic. The winner of this competition will represent Indonesia at the Asian Federation of Exhibition and Convention Associations (AFECA) MICE Youth Challenge.
“I hope this activity can become a prestigious annual competition with our full support. Let’s make this moment the beginning of a long journey towards success in the MICE industry,” said Yuda Imam.
Meanwhile Jeffry Eugen, Secretary General of ASPERAPI, added that the MICE industry needs a lot of creative events that need to be encouraged by both the industry itself and the world of education. “This event is expected to be a stepping stone for the participants to enter the real MICE industry,” said Jeffry.
Likewise, Vincensius Jemadu, Deputy for Tourism Products and Event Organizers, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) of the Republic of Indonesia, emphasized the importance of investing in human resources.
“Investment in human resources is very important because it has a long-term impact. We at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will always consistently support competitions like this,” he said.
Moreover Hosea Andreas Runkat, General Chairman of the Indonesian Exhibition Industry Association (ASPERAPI), explained that AFEKA is an association of exhibition and convention associations in Asia. “We hope that the champions can compete and represent ASPERAPI and Indonesia at the AFECA event. Thank you to the universities that supported us,” added Hosea.
The Indonesia MICE Youth Challenge is an important platform to prepare a competent young generation in the MICE industry, ensuring that Indonesia can become a world-class MICE destination in the future.

1st Runner Up: Jakarta State Polytechnic – Aruna Jaya Team, 2nd Runner Up: Prasetiya Mulya – Triplets Team. The Best Presenter Awards: Prasetiya Mulya – Yusri Tamara, Special Recognition Awards: Jakarta State Polytechnic – Barries Breakers Team. The most popular awards: Bali International Polytechnic – Balicentive Team. The Best Dressed Awards: NHI Bandung Tourism Polytechnic – Earth Allies Team.
