FOLLOWING the success of its inaugural mixology event, TA’AKTANA, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Labuan Bajo, continues its Bar Takeover series at Maiga! Bar with a special collaboration featuring Agung “El Hombre” Satria, Bacardi-Martini’s Brand Ambassador. Guests are invited to embark on a flavorful journey with world-class cocktails, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Labuan Bajo on the 27th and 28th of September 2024.
The event begins with a Tequila Flight Tasting on 27th September, from 6 pm to 10 pm, a symphony of flavors that pairs food and spirits. Guests will enjoy a curated selection of Patrón Tequila, paired with an exquisite food menu designed to complement the rich flavors of each tequila. Highlights include Patrón Silver with Tuna Gohu, Patrón Reposado with Chicken Croquettes, Patrón Añejo with Prawn Samosa, and Patrón El Cielo with Corn Carne Sliders, offering a sophisticated experience of taste and refinement.
The experience continues on 28th September 2024 with a Bar Takeover by Agung Satria, where the renowned mixologist showcases his artistry through signature cocktails that embody his creative passion for mixology. Known for his creative flair and deep understanding of ingredients, Agung presents three of his celebrated creations: Esmeralda, a refreshing blend of Patrón Silver, Kaffir Leaf, Kyuri, and Lime; Watermelon Sugar, featuring Patrón Silver, Watermelon Metheglin, Passion Fruit, and Tonic; and Sunny Side Up, a bold fusion of Patrón Silver, Falernum, Curry Leaf, Lime, and Aquafaba. Each cocktail highlights the mixologist’s mastery in blending unique flavors with premium spirits.
Affectionately known as ‘El Hombre,’ Agung has built a stellar reputation for his creativity and expertise in mixology, becoming the first Indonesian bartender to place in the top 3 of the Angostura Global Cocktail Competition in 2020. His journey began in France, where he earned his nickname after impressing customers with the best Pisco Sour they had ever tasted. Agung’s life motto, ‘Before you mix any cocktails, always understand how to treat every ingredient,’ encapsulates his approach to crafting balanced and innovative drinks.
As one of the leading figures in Indonesia’s cocktail scene, Agung is known for his signature cocktails like Esmeralda, Watermelon Sugar, and Sunny Side Up. These creations take center stage during the Bar Takeover at Maiga! Bar, showcasing his exceptional talent and passion for mixology.
