MINISTER of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, reviewed the first day of the 2024 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, on Friday (09/27), 2024.
On the occasion, Sandiaga reviewed the preparations for the race, where the first day was filled with practice activities for all riders. Starting from MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3 racers, also the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup.
“We just reviewed the free practice (2024 Indonesian MotoGP), we saw that the track conditions were very ideal,” he said.
Sandiaga, who met directly with a number of riders and organizers including MGPA (Mandalika Circuit Manager) and Dorna Sports (MotoGP Commercial Rights Holder), expressed his satisfaction with the condition of the track.
Among the riders met by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy were riders from Gresini Racing, Marc Marquez and Alex Marquez. The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy met the brothers at the Gresini Racing garage. The two had a chat before Marc and Alex took part in the final practice session on the first day of the 2024 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia.
“Marquez is in good shape, his spirit and energy are good, his physical condition is also in top shape,” he explained.
Sandiaga added that Marquez also sent his greetings to all the Indonesian people. Earlier, Marquez said that he is very happy every time he has the opportunity to greet his fans in Indonesia. He said that there are a lot of MotoGP fans in Indonesia and they always give a lot of energy.
“He (Marc Marquez) sent his greetings to all the Indonesian people and asked for prayers for his race to go smoothly. The Ministry of Tourism and Gresini Racing have been working together since 2022, involving a number of brands that are members of the Wonderful Indonesia co-branding to sponsor this Italian racing team,” he elaborated.
The brands sponsoring this team include Federal Oil, Aspira, Antangin, MS Glow Men, Bold Riders and Riding Style. In addition to introducing Indonesian brands to the international market, this collaboration also aims to increase the number of foreign tourist arrivals to Indonesia.
In addition, the “Wonderful Indonesia” brand is widely known as a brand that promotes Indonesia’s tourism and creative economy in the domestic and international markets through world-class sporting events.
“I hope this event can be successful. The target (spectators) must be higher than last year, which reached 102,929 spectators. The 2024 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia will be held from September 27 to 29, 2024,” Sandiaga concluded. [traveltext.id]
