ARTOTEL GELORA SENAYAN JAKARTA PRESENTS ‘EMERGING ECHOES’ PAINTING EXHIBITION

ARTOTEL Gelora Senayan Jakarta presents the painting exhibition ‘Emerging Echoes’ with the works of two artists: Agustan and Frima Summa. The exhibition will run from February 1 to April 30, 2025, at ARTSPACE, Artotel Gelora Senayan Jakarta with an exploration of evocative pop art paintings through the unique perspectives of each artist.

According to Windi Salomo, Art Director of Artotel Group, at the press conference opening exhibition, Friday (01/31), 2025, said these two artists have succeeded in inviting us to see the world from a different perspective, evoking emotion and imagination through their works full of depth. Through this exhibition, “Emerging Echoes” is not just a painting experience, but a journey to understand the story hidden behind each moment.

“If we talk about Agustan has spent more than 17 years in the world of painting, specializing in oil and acrylic painting in each of his works. Likewise, Frima Summa, she continued that has been interested in drawing as a hobby since childhood. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Yogyakarta. Since then, he has been active in the art community and officially became an artist in 2011. He participates in both collective and individual exhibition programs, as well as commissioned art projects.

“Aside from being an artist, Firma is also active in social activities within the community where he lives and is a permanent art teacher at a school in his hometown. Firma’s body of work tends towards Pop Surrealism, Pop Art and Lowbrow, using panting as a medium, whether on paper, canvas, wood, plate and walls,” she affirmed.

Windi added that accustomed to working collectively and having a closeness to the surrounding community, his works often discuss the function and role of man as a social being, synchronized with social, cultural and political issues that have commonly occurred or are currently occurring. Here, Frima also continued to exhibit some of his paintings such as: Contribute, Turun Temurun, Worried, Sincere, Selaras, Role-Play.

However, when asked about the price of their own paintings, Windi immediately answered for a painting by Agustan at the top for “Standing Between the Birds Singing” around IDR60 million and for Frima Summa’s artwork “Contribute” around IDR32 million.
