NGURAH RAI AIRPORT SERVES TWO MILLION PASSENGERS, 64% FOREIGN TOURISTS

I GUSTI Ngurah Rai International Airport once again recorded the dominance of flight traffic and passengers on international routes throughout October 2025. Of the total of more than two million passengers served during the month, 64% were international passengers, indicating that international tourists still have high interest in Bali Island as the main destination of choice.

In October 2025, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport will serve 12,252 aircraft movements, consisting of 6,663 international flights and 5,589 domestic flights. In an average day there are 395 aircraft movements, with the highest traffic occurring on October 19 with 421 movements.

Meanwhile, the number of passenger movements reached 2,097,903 people, consisting of 1,336,138 international passengers (64%) and 761,765 domestic passengers (36%). The daily average was recorded at 67,674 passengers, with the busiest day occurring on October 7, namely 73,997 passengers arriving and departing via I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport. The passenger growth rate in October 2025 was recorded at 1% compared to the same period last year which served 2,079,264 passengers.

In terms of passenger baggage services, a total of 23.6 thousand tons of baggage was transported throughout October, consisting of 17.6 thousand tons of international flight baggage and 6 thousand tons of domestic baggage. For air cargo services, the total reached 9.6 thousand tons, with 7.6 thousand tons of international cargo and 2 tons of domestic cargo.

From January to October 2025, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport has served 119,194 aircraft movements carrying 20,329,674 passengers, 230 thousand tons of passenger baggage and 88 thousand tons of cargo.

To date, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport is served by 45 airlines connecting Bali with 36 international routes in various countries, as well as 10 domestic airlines covering 21 cities in Indonesia. This dominant proportion of international traffic shows the important role of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport as the main gateway for air connectivity and national tourism.

Approaching the year-end holiday season, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport management continues to ensure the readiness of all operational aspects by taking various steps to improve services, from optimizing check-in services and security checks, to handling arrivals, baggage, and the availability of more comfortable and efficient land transportation modes.

“We continue to ensure the readiness of all operational lines to face the surge in traffic ahead of the year-end holidays. Our focus is to maintain service standards for all service users,” said Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.

He added that currently we are carrying out a program to optimize and beautify terminal facilities such as the check-in area, toilets and waiting room areas. To provide a more comfortable journey, we are also preparing to add several operational support facilities such as self-check-in kiosks, additional cabin baggage trolleys, refurbished chairs in the waiting room area, and other supporting facilities.
