STARTING FRIDAY (24/4), TRANSPORT MINISTRY STOPS DOMESTIC & FOREIGN FLIGHTS

THE Ministry of Transportation has officially imposed a ban on flights at home and abroad from Friday, 24 April 2020 to 1 June 2020.

According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation, Novie Riyanto said, exceptions were made to the use of air transportation facilities only applied to the leaders of state and guest high institutions or state representatives and representatives of international organizations.

“In addition, there are also special flight operations for repatriation or repatriation of Indonesian citizens (WNI) and foreign nationals (foreigners). The ban includes flights from scheduled or non-scheduled or leased airlines,” said Novie, during a virtual conference on Thursday (4/23).

Novie noted, the exemption also applies to law enforcement, order and emergency service operations, cargo transportation operations (essential and essential cargo). Currently, passenger configuration aircraft can be used to transport cargo inside a special passenger cabin for transporting medical, health, and sanitation and food needs.

“The Ministry also said, exceptions to other operations with the permission of the Minister of Transportation in order to support the acceleration of handling the COVID-19 pandemic,” Novie said.

Novie added, flight navigation services will continue as usual. The same thing applies for airport services to continue operating as usual in anticipation if needed to transport cargo.

Meanwhile, for airport authorities to always supervise and coordinate both with relevant stakeholders and with airports in the area of ​​supervision over the prohibition of going home.
