THE Indonesian Music Promoter Association (APMI) said that event organizers are still relying on new adaptations to host musical performances in 2021.
According to Dino Hamid, General Chair of APMI, said that this year’s music performance will not be much different from 2020 with the rise of virtual concerts. I think 2021 is still adaptive, if you could say it’s the same as last year, it’s still the same. Everything cutting edge remains with a tight process. Any running event must prioritize strict prokes.
Dino continued that in 2020 music promoters had tried to adapt to holding performances during a pandemic, such as holding concerts with a drive-in concept or a hybrid concept that combined online and offline performances.
“Holding a show with a drive-in concept is currently the best solution for holding a musical performance that can be attended by the audience while still implementing strict health protocols. In my opinion, the best solution at this time is still in the form of a drive-in, because from a security point of view there will be no crowds because the person is already separated in their respective cars, “said Dino Hamid.
As a promoter, Dino Hamid also has experience holding drive-in music shows in Jakarta in 2020 which also received support from the Ministry of Tourism & Creative Economy. However, I think that organizing a drive-in concert also poses its own challenges for the promoter.
“The obstacle must be cost because the drive-in is a simple calculation, for example the investment for 10,000 people with the drive-in format, the maximum audience is 900 people,” he explained.
Dino, as a music promoter, also hopes that the pandemic can quickly subside so that he can again get permission to hold music shows. [antaranews/photo special]
