TOURISM MINISTRY AND STAKEHOLDERS ACCELERATE THE DEV’T OF LABUAN BAJO

THE INDONESIAN Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the Implementing Agency for the Labuan Bajo Flores Authority (BPOLBF) held a coordination meeting to accelerate the development of the Labuan Bajo Super Priority Tourism Destination (SPTD) with related ministries and institutions, Wednesday (1/19) at Lingko Room 1, Sudamala Resort Komodo dragon.

This hybrid coordination meeting (online and offline) aims to see and evaluate various works that have been carried out through collaboration between ministries and agencies (K/L) in SPTD as well as future follow-ups.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno when opening the coordination meeting through the media zoom said this coordination meeting can be a means for stakeholders to collaborate and discuss with each other so that the acceleration of development at the Labuan Bajo SPTD can run smoothly while continuing to prioritize strengthening local products.

“This coordination meeting was held to accelerate the tourism development of Labuan Bajo as one of the Super Priority Tourism Destinations in Indonesia. Labuan Bajo has received so many events, let’s use it to continue to develop local products,” said Sandiaga.

Sandiaga explained that all development and development in the Labuan Bajo DPSP must involve the community and for the purpose of community welfare.

As the leader of the meeting as well as the representative of the Minister of Tourism who was present at the coordination meeting, Head of Deputy 3, Vinsensius Jemadu said that the acceleration of development and various issues raised in this coordination meeting could be carried out with collaboration and cooperation.

“The face of Labuan Bajo has changed a lot and this is the result of collaboration, cooperation, and orchestration from various relevant stakeholders, both at the center and the regions, be it the government or the private sector. Collaboration like this is very important to jointly accelerate development and development of the Labuan Bajo Flores Super Priority tourism destination. In addition to discussing various development issues and accelerating development in terms of infrastructure and human resources, another issue that also became a concern at this meeting was the preparation of the G20.

As one of the locations for holding the G20 side event, Labuan Bajo must of course be optimally prepared, because the event is one of the means of promoting Labuan Bajo to be more global.

Meanwhile, the President Director of BPOLBF, Shana Fatina said that to welcome the G20, BPOLBF had prepared a MICE catalog to prepare local products.

“Labuan Bajo’s readiness to welcome the G20 has been carried out in several ways, we have made a MICE catalog, completed vaccinations, Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) certificates, and prepared local products. We also consider it necessary to form a regional task force to fill events and prepare for the implementation throughout 2022 and this Of course, it cannot be separated from the collaboration of various parties later,” Shana noted.

In closing, Shana also said that in principle, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, BPOLBF, relevant ministries and institutions, as well as stakeholders are preparing Labuan Bajo to take off, becoming a quality, world-class, and of course sustainable destination.
