AIRASIA REMINDS OVERSEAS TRAVELERS TO OBEY SOP FOR OPENING BORDERS

AIRASIA is reminding overseas travelers (PPLN) to adhere to standard operating procedures (SOP), including foreigners visiting Malaysia, following the latest announcement regarding border opening on Friday, April 1.

In a statement in Kuala Lumpur, the airline said that before departure PPLN must download and activate MySejahtera then complete the pre-departure form via the “traveler” icon.

Then send vaccination details through MySejahtera after which those who have been fully vaccinated will get an electronic “Digital Traveler’s Card” to be shown at the airport at check-in. After that, they are asked to enter an address in Malaysia for foreign tourists.

Travelers aged seven years and over are required to undergo a PCR test two days before departure to Malaysia and upload it on MySejahtera.

PPLN aged six years and under are not required to take a pre-departure test. Travelers who have been infected with COVID-19 before (6-60 days before departure) must undergo a professional RTK-Antigen test two days before departure.

Travelers do not need to apply for a “MyTravelPass” to enter Malaysia after April 1, 2022. Travelers with non-Malaysian nationals are required to purchase travel and COVID-19 insurance and must comply with all applicable health protocols in Malaysia.

Meanwhile, upon arrival, travelers aged seven years and over are required to take a professionally administered RTK-Antigen test within 24 hours of arriving in Malaysia.

Travelers aged six and under are not required to take the arrival test and must check-in at the arrival entry point using the MySejahtera application. Those who have been fully vaccinated and test negative are not required for further tests and quarantine upon arrival in Malaysia.

Travelers who have been infected with COVID-19 before must have been fully vaccinated and have evidence of having been infected with COVID-19 which occurred between six and 60 days before departure to Malaysia.

Travelers are also required to show positive results for COVID-19 in both print and digital formats. Then those who had been hospitalized due to COVID-19 needed to show a health certificate to travel issued by the hospital.

Those who are not hospitalized are required to undergo a professionally administered RTK-Antigen test two days before departure and only travelers with a negative test are allowed to travel to Malaysia.

For PPLN departing from Malaysia before departure, they must check the latest travel conditions or special requirements from the destination country, including health documents such as COVID-19 and proof of full vaccination status.

They recommend self-check-in via the AirAsia app to minimize physical contact and crowds at the airport. Self-check-in can be done easily starting from 14 days before the departure date.

Starting April 1, 2022, AirAsia will limit check-in counter services to excluded groups of guests at all airports in Malaysia. The use of the AirAsia Super App is free of charge and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store or Huawei AppGallery for free.

Travelers are encouraged to arrive at the airport early to allow sufficient time to carry out all the necessary processes. PPLN must wear a mask before, during and after the flight. A regular triple mask or a double mask is recommended for better protection. Masks with open valves are not permitted on AirAsia flights. [antaranews]
