PELITA AIR COLLABORATES WITH PT TWC AGREES TO ENCOURAGE TOURISM

PELITA AIR, PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko (PT TWC) and NIVEA Beiersdorf launched the “Enjoying Yogya, Enjoy the Sun” program to encourage Indonesia’s tourism growth.

According to the President Director of PT Pelita Air Service, Dendy Kurniawan in a press release on Saturday (6/25) said Pelita Air, a subsidiary airline of Pertamina, is committed to supporting the tourism industry, especially to Super Priority Tourism Destinations, the new route Jakarta-Yogyakarta, Yogyakarta-Jakarta is operated to support the need for increased air travel traffic.

“The opening of the Jakarta-Yogyakarta-Jakarta route shows Pelita Air’s seriousness to participate in developing Yogyakarta tourism as one of the super priority tourism destinations,” said Dendy Kurniawan.

Pelita Air and PT TWC, said Dendy, collaborated to participate in developing tourism through the creation of a joint program that combines each service, namely Pelita Air flight tickets with tourism products organized by PT TWC.

The collaboration began with Pelita Air boarding pass holders on the Jakarta-Yogyakarta route on the inaugural flight getting the added value of “Buy 1 Get 1 Experience” watching the Ramayana ballet or Roro Jonggrang drama dance.

“Collaboration between parties in the tourism ecosystem is needed to accelerate tourism recovery. The ‘Enjoying Yogya, Enjoy the Sun’ program, the collaboration of PT TWC, Pelita Air, and NIVEA is not only to attract as many tourists as possible but also to create the best visitor experience,” he said.

Meanwhile, Director of Marketing & Services of PT TWC Hetty Herawati said that one of them is heritage-based tourism in the super priority tourism destination of Borobudur, which includes the Central Java and Yogyakarta areas.

“This program was launched in conjunction with the opening of the new Pelita Air route from Jakarta to Yogyakarta International Airport on June 20, 2022. Pelita Air is expected to increase the accessibility of tourists to visit the cultural and tourism heart of Java, namely Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko,” Hetty remarked.

Hetty conveyed that collaboration and synergy between actors in the tourism ecosystem was the key to accelerating post-pandemic tourism recovery. In line with the loosening of PPKM regulations, there has been an increase in tourist visits to three destinations under the management of PT TWC.

“PT TWC always applies health protocols consistently and offers thematic packages that are in great demand by post-pandemic tourists, including cycling, yoga, culinary, and meditation as well as performances of the Ramayana ballet and Roro Jonggrang drama dance,” concluded Hetty.
