AIRASIA INDONESIA CAPTURES MALAYSIAN TOURISTS THROUGH SALES MISSION

AIRASIA Indonesia in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy carried out the Wonderful Indonesia & AirAsia Sales Mission 2022, recently at AirAsia RedQ, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as an effort to increase tourist visits from Malaysia to Indonesia.

Wonderful Indonesia & AirAsia Sales Mission 2022 is a tourism marketing activation that aims to promote Bali again as a leading post-pandemic tourist destination, as well as 10 Priority Tourism Destinations.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, in his statement, Monday (10/24), said Malaysia is a potential market for Indonesia and has always been one of the largest contributors of foreign tourists to Indonesia. In 2019, Malaysian tourists ranked first to come to Indonesia with a total of 2.9 million tourists.

“This year’s target of foreign tourists coming to Indonesia is 1.8-3.6 million people. Of course, it is gradually increased in a sustainable manner, prioritizing quality tourism,” said Sandiaga Uno.

This year, the Ministry of Tourism will focus its promotion efforts through collaboration with major domestic and foreign tourism business players including tour agents/tour operators, hotels, and airlines, in the form of sales missions and integrated cooperation.

Meanwhile, Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, explained that this activity has brought together Indonesian inbound tourism industry players (sellers) with outbound tourism industry players in Malaysia (buyers) in a series of business meetings with a table top format.

“This activity is expected to generate potential transactions for selling tour packages to Indonesia, strengthening networking between business actors, with the ultimate goal of bringing more tourists from Malaysia to Indonesia,” said Ni Made Ayu.

Furthermore, Ni Made Ayu said that Kemenparekraf/Baparekraf had coordinated 9 sellers from Bali consisting of hotel representatives, DMCs or Tour Operators, and attractions/tourist attractions to be met with around 50 buyers or top agents selected by AirAsia based on the track record of package sales. to Indonesia.

“Through this sales mission, it is hoped that TA/TO from Malaysia can get the latest information about Bali along with offering packages from the Balinese industry that we invite to this activity,” concluded Ni Made Ayu. [traveltext.id]
