ATTRACTING GLOBAL INVESTORS, LAUNCHED OF THE SECOND HOME VISA POLICY

THE SECOND Home Visa policy has been officially enforced by the Indonesia’s Minister of Law and Human Rights of Indonesia, Yasonna H Laoly at the Handover of the Pura Wira Ksatria Immigration Patrol Boat and the Launching of the Second Home Visa in Lagoi Bintan, Riau Islands on Wednesday (12/21). This policy will later target global investors and billionaires.

“This policy is motivated by the phenomenon of migration of foreigners to Indonesia with various purposes and activities, one of which is to live in Indonesia because of its natural charm and friendly weather compared to their home country,” said Yasonna.

He explained, geographically and the potential of natural resources and economic resources owned by Indonesia allows foreigners to develop their business and investment in Indonesia. In its application, of course, it prioritizes the principle of selectiveness and the principle of benefit for the good of Indonesia.

“The selective principle is very important so that the sovereignty of the Indonesian nation is maintained from threats, disturbances, obstacles and challenges. This new program breakthrough is also followed by a new system, this is expected to be a barometer of technology-based service delivery that is measurable, fast, efficient and precise so that it becomes a benchmark for all technical functions both internally and externally at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights,” he remarked.

Foreign Citizens or Guarantor who will apply for a Second Home Visa can directly access the website-based application molina.imigration.go.id easily and quickly. This one-platform application is also an application for a Limited Stay Permit for a Second Home for 5 years and 10 years and payments are made online.

Visas and Second Home Stay Permits have the concept of one single submission, namely one application for a Visa, Limited Stay Permit and Re-Entry Permit so that when the foreigner enters Indonesian territory through the Immigration Checkpoint and has been given an entry stamp, then from that moment on the Stay Permit Limited (ITAS) Second Home will be published and sent electronically to foreigners’ e-mails,” he explained.

In the Circular Letter signed by the Acting Director General of Immigration, Widodo Ekatjahjana, foreigners applying for a Second Home Visa must meet the proof of fund requirement of IDR2 billion or property ownership in Indonesia. Proof of ownership of funds at a State-Owned Bank or property certificate must be shown to the officer at the immigration office no later than ninety days from the date of issue of the Second Home Stay Permit.

Second Home Visa holders will also be given a special queue line at Immigration Checkpoints at Batam Seaport, Soekarno Hatta Airport, Ngurah Rai Bali, Kualanamu Medan, and Juanda Surabaya.
