To start this special series, the Barongsai performance will be presented as one of the Chinese New Year traditions at Fairmont Jakarta. After performing the Eye Dotting Ceremony ritual in the hotel lobby area, the Lion Dance will come to the restaurant to welcome guests for Chinese New Year dinner and Chinese New Year lunch. Traditionally, lion dance is believed to bring good luck and success to welcome the new year.
Peacock Lounge will blend a harmonious dining experience with live entertainment to welcome Chinese New Year. From 16 to 31 January 2023, guests will be treated to an Oriental-themed Afternoon Tea Set inspired by the Year of the Rabbit. With an elegant Chinoiserie-style décor, guests can enjoy a variety of savory and delicious snacks such as Hunan Lobster Fruit Salad, Hoisin Duck Szechuan Bun, Honey Glazed Carshiew Puff, and Cured Salmon Sandwich.
A selection of fresh sweets is also available in this set, starting from Mandarin Orange Cake, Almond Cookies, Black Sesame Cheesecake, Raspberry Choux, Red Bean Mochi, Blueberry Snow, Lychee Strawberry Vacherin, and Strawberry Banana which is shaped like a money bag. Not only that, guests can also taste warm scones served with cream and jam and accompanied by a cup of tea or coffee.
This Oriental Afternoon Tea is available at IDR 488,000++ per set, inclusive coffee or tea for two. To add to the Chinese New Year celebration at Peacock Lounge, guests will be entertained by live performances of traditional Guzheng instruments, and meet fortune tellers.
