BATIK AIR airline will provide flight services from Yogyakarta International Airport or YIA to Singapore Changi Airport without transit. This direct flight service will be scheduled to be effective as of 3 February 2023.
“The Yogyakarta-Singapore route is our effort to facilitate access to travel for businessmen and tourists in Southeast Asia,” said Corporate Communications Strategic of Batik Air Danang Mandala Prihantoro in his statement, quoted on Sunday, (01/15), 2023.
Danang said, Batik Air’s first international Yogyakarta-Singapore new route provides an opportunity for travelers and business people from Jogja, Solo, Magelang, Purworejo, Purwokerto and its surroundings, to be able to fly to Singapore.
On the other hand, it will also be easier for tourists and foreign business people who go through Singapore to go to Jogja as their favorite destination. Moreover, Yogyakarta Airport is connected with connecting flights to Surabaya, Bandung, Bali, Lombok, Pontianak, Balikpapan, Banjarmasin, Makassar, Pekanbaru, and so on.
“Yogyakarta-Singapore is the 5th route after Jakarta, Medan Kualanamu, Surabaya and Makassar. In the future, we will develop additional international routes to Singapore from other cities in Indonesia based on domestic and international market demand,” Danang remarked.
Furthermore, Danang said that Batik Air was preparing Boeing 737-800NG aircraft with 12 business classes and 150 economy classes to serve these international travel routes. The Boeing 737-800NG is a modern and new generation sent from the aircraft manufacturer.
Later, each guest will receive food and drinks or inflight meals, free 20 kg baggage for economy class and 30 kg for business class, free inflight entertainment on demand, as well as entertainment that can be accessed from mobile and tablet devices supported by Tripper. Passengers can also play games or read digital magazines.
He also hopes that flights without transit for the Yogyakarta-Singapore-Yogyakarta trip can expedite and facilitate the mobility of people, tourists and business people from Indonesia.
Apart from that, being able to attract foreign tourists and business people to visit Indonesia, is one of the Proud Traveling in Indonesia (BBWI) campaign programs to boost the number of foreign tourists.
