THE WORLD’S largest passenger aircraft, Emirates’ Airbus A380-800 which has a passenger capacity of up to 853 will land at Ngurah Rai International Airport on June 1, 2023. The Airbus A380-800 is the largest commercial passenger aircraft currently operating, both in terms of maximum passenger capacity and aircraft dimensions.
According to the plan, Emirates will operate two types of A380 aircraft in Indonesia, namely type two class business and economy and type three class first class, business and economy. Emirates’ Airbus A380-800 flew from Dubai carrying 615 passengers who will be traveling in Bali.
According to the Main Director of PT Angkasa Pura I, Faik Fahmi, explained that special preparations had been made to welcome the Airbus A380-800. For the movement of passengers from the plane to the airport terminal or vice versa, a garbarata or avio bridge with two trunks has been prepared to accommodate Airbus A380-800 aircraft.
“To handle the placement of the Airbus A380-800, aircraft parking arrangements will be implemented around it. The parking stands around it are only allocated for medium or narrow body aircraft to accommodate the dimensions of the A380-800 which has a wingspan of 79.5 meters,” explained Faik as quoted in a press release, Monday (5/29), 2023.
Faik also explained that the entry of this wide-body aircraft is a sign of the revival of Bali tourism, because every Airbus A380-800 flight carries more than 500 passengers and the majority are European and Middle Eastern tourists who have big spending when traveling. [sources/photo special]
