PRESIDENT Joko Widodo (Jokowi) confirmed that the soft launch of the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train (KCJB) will be next Sunday (10/01), 2023.
This was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan after attending a limited meeting (ratas) held by Jokowi regarding the Integration of Public Transportation Modes at the State Palace, Wednesday (9/27), 2023.
“Yes, the President’s high-speed train will probably have a soft launch on October 1. Yes, then we’ll see,” he told reporters at the Presidential Palace complex. The public would be able to try out the Whoosh fast train directly in early October.
Luhut said that the Head of State had instructed that there would be discounts so that people could immediately experience the train which has a speed of up to 350 kilometers per hour. Meanwhile, the price set for purchasing tickets will also be announced in the near future.
“The price will probably be announced during the [soft launch] by the President and the President just discussed how long the discount will be given in stages. “Basically, the president wants us all to be able to enjoy it at a good price, but this method also works,” concluded Luhut.
The following is a list of ticket prices for the Jakarta – Bandung Fast Train (Whoosh):
1. VIP Class
VIP class has 18 seats in one carriage with a 1-2 seating arrangement. The KCJB VIP class ticket price is estimated at around IDR350,000 per passenger.
2. Class I
First class has 28 seats in one carriage with a 2-2 seating arrangement. The price of a first class KCJB ticket is estimated to be around IDR 300,000 per passenger.
3. Class 2
KCJB second class tickets consist of 555 seats in one carriage with a 3-2 seating arrangement. Second class KCJB ticket prices are estimated to start from IDR250,000 per passenger. [antaranews/photo special]
