COMMISSION X of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR-RI) has approved the final budget for the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy for the fiscal year 2025 of IDR1,768,347,951,000. This amount is lower than the indicative budget of IDR3,052,364,852,000 previously submitted as an additional proposal to the DPR RI Budget Agency meeting.
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, in a working meeting with Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives at the DPR/MPR Building, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (09/11), 2024, he assured that he would maximize the amount of budget approved by the DPR to advance the tourism and creative economy sector towards Indonesia Emas 2045.
“Although there is no increase, IDR1.7 trillion is a large amount. If we look at it compared to others, we should be grateful. This is money that we will certainly use every cent of to promote tourism and the creative economy,” said Sandiaga.
Minister Sandiaga assured that the ranks of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will fight to the maximum based on the two main pillars of the goals of the nation and state, namely the promotion of public welfare and the education of the nation’s life.
“We will fight for every penny allocated for the development of Indonesia’s tourism and creative economy sector to create business opportunities and jobs as widely as possible. Tourism and Creative Economy is the most powerful sector in creating business opportunities and employment,” he added.
Appreciation of Commission X
In the last working meeting with Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Minister Sandiaga expressed his appreciation and deep gratitude to the leadership and all members of Commission X of the DPR for the cooperation established so far. He said Commission X of the DPR has become a reliable partner in supporting the development of tourism and creative industries.
“It is unimaginable that during COVID-19 we are facing a very, very bad situation. But with the partnership with Commission X of DPR, we have a reliable partner in overcoming a situation that was really felt at that time,” Sandiaga stated.
Together with Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has been able to restore 5 million jobs lost due to COVID-19, among other achievements.
“We can create new products such as tourist villages, creative economy products that are now the backbone of their lives (the community). And this cannot be separated from the guidance and direction and family friendship that we feel,” he affirmed.
The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy also took the opportunity to apologize if there were any mistakes during the partnership with Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives.
“For the future, we believe that in the new government, tourism and creative economy will be in good hands in the hands of Commission X. We can be the locomotive of Indonesia’s development towards a Golden Indonesia,” Sandiaga explained.
Meanwhile, the deputy chairman of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Golkar Party, Hetifah Sjaifudian, hopes that the existing budget allocation can be maximized.
