INDONESIAN President, Prabowo Subianto has allocated a budget of IDR48.8 trillion for the further development of the Indonesian Capital City (IKN), especially in the core area of the Government Center, for the next five years.
This was conveyed by Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) after President Prabowo chaired a limited meeting on the development of the IKN with Head of the Indonesian Capital City Agency Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Housing and Residential Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait and Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday.
“Earlier, President Prabowo Subianto conveyed and emphasized that the budget for the further development of IKN has been approved at IDR48.8 trillion for the next five years,” Coordinating Minister AHY said in a press statement at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Tuesday (01/21), 2025.
AHY emphasized that according to President Prabowo’s direction, the development of the IKN will continue according to the set timeline, namely the first phase in 2022 under the administration of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo, then the second phase in 2025-2029 under the administration of President Prabowo Subianto.
According to AHY, various infrastructures in the IKN have been 100% completed in the first phase, such as the Garuda Palace, the Presidential Palace and the Coordinating Ministry Building.
The budget for continued development in the second phase of the IKN will be used to complete the construction of support facilities and office ecosystems for the legislative and judicial branches.
Funding for the continued development of the IKN, AHY said, is expected to come not only from one source of funds, namely the APBN, but also from the private sector.
“Of course, some come from the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN), some come from non-APBN sources. This is the presence of togetherness, good cooperation between the government and business entities. We also hope that the private sector can contribute positively and of course be well integrated,” AHY concluded. [antaranews]
