BOOST OFFER BUSINESS, HOTEL CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF AGODA TECHNOLOGY

THE COVID-19 pandemic has brought about a change in customer travel behavior, according to a survey titled Travel in 2021 conducted by digital travel platform Agoda at the launch of Agoda Special Offers.

According to Gede Gunawan, Senior Country Director, Indonesia, Agoda during a virtual press meeting (9/7) said the survey revealed the top five ways how people travel today, namely by traveling short distances, exploring new local destinations, seeking experiences as part of accommodation. Using online travel agents (OTAs) like Agoda to search for travel deals, and choosing accommodation as a destination in itself, not just a place to sleep.

“If we look at the survey, the top way Indonesians travel is to travel short distances, explore new local destinations, and seek experiences as part of their accommodation. In fact, Indonesia ranks fourth for travelers most likely to seek the experience as part of their accommodation (30%), compared to the global average (26%). The same thing was recognized by tourists from Taiwan (42%), Vietnam (33%) and Thailand (31%),” he said.

He explained, besides that, Indonesia (29%) is in third place for tourists who are most likely to use online travel agents such as Agoda.com to search for travel deals, above the global average (27%).

“This is where Agoda Special Offers can help, both for hospitality businesses and customers. Agoda’s technology and marketing expertise can put hotels in front of consumers in a much more efficient way than most hotels of this scale can on their own, due to cost, lack of time or limited brand awareness,” Gede Gunawan elaborated.

Well, he continued that at the same time, travelers enjoy the convenience of comparing the best deals on Food & Beverage (F&B), spas, upgrades and the like, in one easy-to-use platform.

“Agoda is launching these Agoda Special Offers to help hotels leverage their technology and marketing reach. Indonesian hotel partners can register to join the Agoda platform and choose exclusive and non-exclusive packages to get the added benefits of their rooms. Among other things, such as early check-in and late check-out facilities, food and beverage vouchers, experiences inside or outside the hotel, and special room upgrade offers,” he noted.

Participating hotels will benefit from Agoda’s broad reach and insight into local and global travelers, as well as its robust technology and marketing strategy to drive higher exposure and conversions from guests seeking these offers.

“Agoda is committed to doing everything we can to help hoteliers take advantage of whatever travel demand there is,” Gede Gunawan concluded. [traveltext.id]
