OYO AND MICROSOFT TO DEVELOP TOURISM & HOTEL INDUSTRY TECHNOLOGY

MICROSOFT and global tourism technology company OYO announced a strategic partnership to develop technology in the future tourism and hospitality industry.

Quoted from a press release, Friday (9/10), OYO will adopt Microsoft Azure cloud computing services as the key to driving cloud-based innovation and revolutionizing the technology-based hospitality industry and tourism industry.

“By combining the power of the Azure platform with the various technologies and products that OYO has developed, we hope to accelerate innovation in the travel and hospitality industry,” said Microsoft India President Anant Maheshwari.

“With this solution, OYO will expand its positive impact on small and medium-sized hotel businesses around the world. In line with Microsoft’s long-term commitment to the strategic partnership between the two, Microsoft will also invest in OYO in equity,” he said.

Meanwhile Abhinav Sinha, Global COO and Chief Product Officer of OYO Hotels & Homes said we are excited to be able to innovate together with Microsoft, lead the way in future technology for small and medium-sized hotels, and continue to improve the stay experience for travelers.

Abhinav hopes OYO’s alliance with Microsoft will help bring technology power to small businesses around the world.

Through this collaboration, he said, hotels in the OYO network will benefit from an integrated system, with access to the latest technology to grow their business and increase revenue. For customers, this collaboration will support a more personalized and different stay experience.

As part of this alliance, OYO will also develop a Smart Room experience for travelers, premium and personalized in-room voice control.

Using Microsoft Speech and AI services, the experience will also include self-check-in supported by a digital arrival and departure system, a standalone Know-Your-Customer (KYC) identification system, and smart keys for hotel rooms managed using the Internet of Things (IoT) and virtual assistants.

“With the collaboration between OYO and Microsoft, our hotel partners in Indonesia can access leading-edge technology to improve service to guests, as well as better operational and revenue management,” said OYO Indonesia Country Head Agus Hartono Wijaya.

In addition to co-innovation, OYO will also begin migrating workloads to the Microsoft Azure platform, adopting Microsoft Suite 365 for better collaboration and work productivity, and shifting to Github Enterprise to securely accelerate technology development. [antaranews/photo special]
