MINISTER of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono targets to complete the beautification of several infrastructures in Bali by the end of February 2022.
“I urge that the planting be completed by the end of February 2022. The planting should cover median strip in roads and toll roads, but also RoW (right-of-way) and slum areas. It should also be artsy and not just technical,” Hadimuljono noted in a written statement in Jakarta, Thursday (1/20).
The minister also urged related officials to plant full-grown plants and not just seedlings. Please plant full-grown plants and not small ones. For instance, bougainvillea and daffodils that have grown.
The PUPR Ministry continues to improve infrastructure in Bali in order to support implementation of the G20 Summit scheduled to be held in Bali on October 2022. The improvement in quality and aesthetics of infrastructure is reflected in the beautification.
Infrastructures prioritized for beautification during the G20 Summit are the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Roundabout, the Bali – Mandara Toll Road, the national road of Pesanggaran – Nusa Dua, Jimbaran – Uluwatu, and the landscape arrangement of roundabouts, pedestrians, and medians of streets from the Ngurah Rai Airport to the G20 Summit venue.
In addition, the ministry, through the Central Java-Bali National Road Implementing Agency (BBPJN) of the Directorate General of Highways, also continues to preserve the roads and bridges of these sections. The total work comprises nine sections divided into two work packages.
Package I cover road and bridge preservation of seven sections, with a total length of 22 km. This package comprises five segments: Section 1 of 7 km (Pesanggaran-Benoa Gate, Kuta-Pesanggaran, Kuta-Ngurah Rai Monument), with 23.96% achieved.
“Section 2 is 4.3 km in length and comprises the Ngurah Rai Airport-Ngurah Rai Monument, and Ngurah Rai Monument-Nusa Dua, with 14.63 percent completed. Section 3 measures 4.2 km long from Jimbaran to GWK, with progress of 14.25% achieved. Section 4 is 5.5 km long from the Ngurah Rai Monument to Nusa Dua, with progress of 18.66%, while Section 5 is 8.4 km in length, from Pesanggaran Street to Sanur, with progress of 28.5%. Meanwhile, Package II covers road improvement from Siligita to Kempinski, with 6.5 km of mangroves,” he concluded. [antaranews/photo special]
