TOBA Caldera Resort, which is managed by the Toba Lake Authority Management Agency (BPODT), received two additional investors in 2024. From this collaboration, it was agreed that in Eid 2024, TOCA Resort will start building additional facilities in the form of 20 accommodation units.
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, when witnessing the agreement between the two latest collaborations from BPODT with investors, namely TOCA Resort and Mitra Jaya on Sunday (11/26), 2023, said that Mitra Jaya at the end of the first semester or at the end of June 2024, will also build environmentally friendly accommodation facilities to support the increasing number of tourists visit.
“One thing that can attract investors to invest is green tourism. Because, currently there is a lot of demand for green tourism. It is no longer the type of development that is massive in terms of structure. But, at one with nature,” he said.
Sandiaga explained that this year tourist visits to the Toba Caldera Resort have reached 300 thousand. He is optimistic that this figure will continue to increase, because facilities will continue to be added. Also, from the 3A side, namely Accessibility, Amenities and Attractions.

“Some of the developments here also have a direct impact on the welfare of the community and the local economy. That is our hope, because the government continues to build roads, ports and airports. We are also building Sibisa Airport, it will soon be completed. Meanwhile, the President Director of BPODT, Jimmy Bernando Panjaitan, explained that to date the total investment value in the Toba Caldera Resort that has been discussed has reached IDR2 trillion, both already underway and in process.
“This figure includes those that have just been agreed, namely from TOCA Resort almost IDR100 billion and Mitra Jaya almost IDR500 billion. If the total investment obtained reaches IDR2 trillion,” he concluded. [traveltext.id]
