PRAMBANAN JAZZ ONLINE, A INNOVATION FROM CREATIVE INDUSTRY TO KEEP WORKING

THE Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy appreciates the organization of the Prambanan Jazz Online concert as a form of innovation from creative industry players to continue working amid the limitations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prambanan Jazz Online which took place on Saturday (18/7) became the first virtual music concert in Indonesia that was broadcast live from Prambanan Temple by presenting performances by a number of musicians, including Rio Febrian, Frau, and Langit Sore.

According to the Deputy for Tourism Products and Organizers of Events, Rizki Handayani welcomed the implementation of Prambanan Jazz Online. This shows the enthusiasm of the creative industries to continue working and create unlimited creativity during this pandemic. Namely by combining creativity with technology as a solution.

“Appreciation to the organizers for their efforts and hard work to continue to carry out this activity online as a way to arouse audience enthusiasm that concerts can still be enjoyed in a pandemic situation through online. With the implementation of these activities it is hoped that it can provide opportunities to re-work the event participants who were previously stalled due to the pandemic COVID-19,” Rizki Handayani said.

Rizki Handayani explained, virtual music concerts were still held by always paying attention to safety and health protocols to the entire production team and the performers. Treats from the viewers were then broadcast live streaming so that viewers could enjoy it from home. Noted, Prambanan Jazz Online which lasted about 120 minutes was followed by approximately 20,000 spectators from home.

“We hope that the COVID-19 pandemic will soon end. So that things can return to normal. And at a difficult time like this we invite all parties affected by the pandemic to work together and strengthen each other so that we can all continue to carry out creativity in the future,” she noted.

Meanwhile Anas Syahrul Alimi as the Founder of the Prambanan Jazz Festival and CEO of Rajawali Indonesia said, the Prambanan Jazz Festival is an annual event that took place since 2015 but this year the COVID-19 pandemic has been affected so that its implementation must be delayed.

“The event that was originally planned for 3 to 5 July 2020 was forced to be rescheduled to 30, 31 October and 1 November 2020. Pandemic is a new challenge for the world, especially in the entertainment industry, so all are required to learn and innovate. Prambanan Jazz Online is one of the answers to the challenge and then packs the concert online,” Anas said.

According to Anas, distance does not mean far but gives room to prepare themselves again. He promised to make improvements to be able to present a concert that is not only entertaining but also made an impression on the hearts of connoisseurs of jazz music.

“We also made donations for event workers and arts affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in the Yogyakarta area,” Anas concluded. [traveltext]
