THE PERIOD of the COVID-19 pandemic, which until now has not ended, is the right momentum for Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) or direct decision makers engaged in the tourism sector to unite to drive Indonesian tourism.
According to Andhy Irawan, CEO of Dafam Hotel Management (DHM) in the webinar HAM series volume 3 which was held directly from Hotel Dafam Fortuna Malioboro, Yogyakarta, recently said DHM is looking for a tourism CEO partner who is committed to driving Indonesian tourism.
“I have a formulation to bring in foreign tourists at a cost of only US$10 and IDR10.000 to move domestic tourists throughout Indonesia,” said Andhy Irawan.
He explained that this formulation must be supported by the commitments of other CEOs engaged in the tourism industry such as transportation, local government, central government and others.
“I am ready to sit down with other CEOs to carry out an MoU to move Indonesian tourism. As for accommodation, all DHM hotel chains in Indonesia are ready to execute this program,” he affirmed .
Andhy added, in my point of view, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has made the right efforts. However, it is still not optimal. It needs even faster acceleration. Collaboration with tourism stakeholders must be tightened by involving the private sector or decision makers so that the tourism ecosystem can quickly move towards a better direction. And programs to move tourism to all destinations in Indonesia at low cost can be realized. It’s no longer just a discourse.
“For example, DHM itself has several times succeeded in making cheap overnight stays, and most recently, DHM network provides a price of IDR10.000 per night for health workers who deal with COVID-19,” he said.
For this reason, he continued, DHM once again stated that it was looking for tourism CEOs who shared a joint commitment to make Indonesian tourism even better.
