THAILAND REVISES COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL FOREIGN TRAVELERS

THE CIVIL Aviation Authority of Thailand has officially notified relevant parties regarding the change in immigration rules for all travelers aged 18 years and over who wish to enter the Land of the White Elephant.

According to a statement by Thailand’s Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob on Saturday (01/07), all foreign travelers aged 18 and over must present at least two COVID-19 vaccination certificates or proof of recovery from COVID-19 infection. The date on the certificate or proof of cure cannot be more than 6 months prior to entering Thailand.

Quoting from the Vietnam Plus page, Sunday, January 8 2022, travelers who have not been vaccinated and wish to enter Thailand must submit a medical document explaining why they cannot participate in the vaccination.

All airlines are required to check all passengers who wish to enter Thailand. Passengers suspected of showing symptoms of COVID-19 will be advised to undergo a COVID-19 test upon arrival.

The reintroduction of entry rules to Thailand is aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19, as China begins to open all of its borders and remove quarantine rules from this Sunday.

Thailand is expected to see 60,000 Chinese travelers this month. The figure could reach 300,000 in the first quarter of 2023. [sources/photo special]
