AVIATION in Indonesia will have a new airline, namely Surya Airways. This new airline is under the name PT Surya Mataram Indonesia. This company is still part of the Surya Group which is based in Sleman, Special Region of Yogyakarta.
The Surya Airways airline is owned by a businessman, namely Benny Rustanto. Previously, Benny was known to have served as Vice President Caro & Ancillary Revenue as well as Founder and Commissioner of Raindo United Services.
Currently Surya Airways has a permit and Standard Certificate for Scheduled Commercial Air Transport (SS-AUNB) which was officially issued on October 9 2023. This information is known from the Instagram upload of Raindo United Services Commissioner Benny Rustanto, @bennyrustanto.
In the document, Surya Airways is known as a commercial aviation company that operates at home and abroad. The document also reveals that Surya Airways plans to not only provide passenger transportation services, but also cargo.
“Just wait for us and the arrival of Airlines-Surya Airways passengers will be coming to you soon,” wrote Benny Rustanto via Instagram @bennyrustanto, quoted by Tempo on Friday, October 20 2023.
If you refer to that post, the two types of aircraft that are likely to be used are the Boeing 777-300ER and ATR 72-600. For information, the Boeing 777-300ER and ATR 72-600 are types of passenger aircraft that are often used by various airlines.
Apart from that, regarding the official launch date, Surya Airways has not yet announced exactly when the airline will be able to operate. However, in a post from the Instagram account @bigalphaid which Benny also re-uploaded in his Instagram stories, it was reported that Surya Airways would operate in the second quarter of 2024.
Tempo tried to browse the official Surya Airways website, namely surya-airways.co.id on Friday, October 20 2023. The banner on the airline’s main page displays the words “We Connect You” with a picture of an airplane. The site also displays several features such as Plan Travel, Flying with Us, Travel Info, Surya Flyer, and For Businesses. When the feature is clicked, the words ‘Coming Soon’ appear.
Quoted from a post on the company’s LinkedIn page, there is an explanation of Surya Airways’ operational vision. The airline has the ambition to provide a rewarding experience to their passengers.
