PT AIRASIA Indonesia Tbk has prepared a number of expansion steps in 2024. AirAsia Indonesia has set ambitious goals for next year. This is in line with the company’s positive financial performance in the third quarter of 2023, which is slowly starting to recover from the impact of the pandemic.
According to the President Director of AirAsia Indonesia, Veranita Yosephine Sinaga recently said, in 2024 the airline plans to operate 32 aircraft and launch new international routes. The airline is committed to maximizing revenue and strengthening its main hubs in Jakarta and Denpasar.
“The six flight routes include Brunei Darussalam, Maldives, China, India, Hong Kong and the Philippines. AirAsia also noted that in terms of operational statistics, there has been a significant increase throughout 2023. With the addition of operating aircraft from 16 to 23 aircraft, capacity will increase by 95%, and the number of passengers will increase to 4.5 million as of September 2023,” she said.
She added that in an effort to improve service to passengers, the airline has also succeeded in operating 35 flight routes, consisting of 14 domestic routes and 21 international routes, with a total frequency of up to 400 flights every week.
“In 2023, AirAsia Indonesia has also opened a direct flight route from Jakarta to Kuching in collaboration with the Sarawak Ministry of Transport, the Tourism Board and opened new routes, both domestic and international, which have supported the company’s expansion,” concluded Veranita Yosephine Sinaga.
