YE’s LIVE CONCERT 2026 IN JAKARTA ATTRACTED 25,000 FOREIGN SPECTATORS

THE YE Live in Jakarta 2026 concert which was held at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium, Jakarta, Saturday (10/24), recorded an important achievement for the Indonesian tourism industry. Bringing around 70,000 spectators, including 25,000 foreign spectators from 80 countries, the concert by world musician Ye or Kanye West is estimated to drive an economic turnover of up to IDR600 billion.

The success of holding this international scale concert further shows the great potential of Indonesia to become one of the world’s music tourism centers, while also confirming that music events can be an economic driver whose benefits reach various tourism sectors and society.

Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana expressed her appreciation for the success of holding Ye’s first concert in Indonesia which was spectacular and attracted the attention of music fans from all over the world.

“The Ye Live in Jakarta concert is an important moment for Indonesian tourism. The presence of around 25 thousand foreign spectators from 80 countries shows that Indonesia has a very strong attraction as a destination for international music performances. This is not just the success of a concert, but also real proof that music tourism is able to drive the economy and strengthen Indonesia’s position on the world tourism stage,” said Widiyanti.

25 Thousand Foreign Spectators
Based on data from organizers Raw Vision Collective as of October 26 2026, the Ye Live in Jakarta concert was attended by around 70,000 spectators, with approximately 25,000 of them coming from abroad.

International audiences come from 80 countries, with the seven countries contributing the most viewers, namely Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and China.

The great enthusiasm of foreign tourists shows the ability of an international music performance to be the main reason for someone to travel across countries.

According to Minister Widiyanti, this phenomenon is a strategic opportunity to develop quality tourism by increasing the length of stay and average tourist expenditure while in Indonesia.

“Tourists who come to enjoy concerts don’t just buy show tickets. They also use transportation, stay in hotels, enjoy culinary delights, shop, and have the opportunity to explore other tourist destinations. Therefore, the stronger our music tourism ecosystem, the greater the opportunity to increase tourist spending and expand economic benefits for society,” Widiyanti added.

IDR600 Billion Economic Turnover
The economic impact of the Ye Live in Jakarta concert is reflected in the economic activities taking place in various tourism supporting sectors.

Based on data from the Raw Vision Collective and the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) DKI Jakarta, holding the concert is estimated to create an economic turnover of around IDR600 billion, which includes ticket sales, culinary activities, merchandise purchases, and transactions for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The positive impact was also felt by the accommodation sector. The hotel occupancy rate around the concert area reportedly jumped to nearly 100%, indicating the high need for lodging services in line with the arrival of tourists.

In addition, this international scale concert involves around 5,000 workers, including production staff, backstage operations, as well as staff supporting the event.

The involvement of thousands of workers shows that the benefits of the performance industry are not only enjoyed by event organizers and performers, but also by professionals, service providers, local business actors, and the community who are part of the tourism economic chain.

“This is the true power of event-based tourism. One international concert can revive many economic sectors at once, from hotels, restaurants, transportation, MSMEs, to opening up job opportunities for thousands of people. We want benefits like this to continue to grow and be felt more widely by the Indonesian people,” Widiyanti noted

The success of Ye Live in Jakarta cannot be separated from the collaboration of various parties, including the support of the Ministry of Tourism since the preparation stage for the event.

In line with President Prabowo Subianto’s direction in encouraging the development of the music tourism sector, Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana received an audience with the CEO of Raw Vision Collective and his team on August 24 2026 at the Sapta Pesona Building, Jakarta.

During the meeting, the Ministry of Tourism provided support for preparations for holding the concert, including through the issuance of letters of recommendation for organizing activities for applying for concert permits, recommendations regarding visas and ease of immigration to Indonesia, as well as recommendations regarding customs for concert equipment needs.

This support is part of efforts to strengthen the facilitation of organizing international events through cross-sector coordination and collaboration in accordance with the authority of each agency.

Furthermore, on September 15 2026, the Ministry of Tourism together with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and the organizers held a joint press conference to introduce the contribution of Ye’s concert to tourism and the Indonesian economy.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Tourism emphasized that the presence of international scale concerts has a strategic role in strengthening Indonesia’s identity as a destination for world music events and activating the economic chain of the national music tourism ecosystem.

“Organizing international events requires strong readiness, collaboration and coordination. The Ministry of Tourism is committed to continuing to support the creation of a conducive ecosystem so that more and more international organizers choose Indonesia as a destination for world-class concerts and music performances,” she affirmed.

Support for Ye Live in Jakarta is part of the Ministry of Tourism’s broader commitment to developing the event-based tourism sector through the Event by Indonesia priority program.

Throughout 2026, the Ministry of Tourism has provided support for more than 25 international events, as a step to strengthen Indonesia’s competitiveness in attracting various global scale activities.

Through the development of music tourism, the Ministry of Tourism wants to ensure that Indonesia is not only a location for performances by international musicians, but also becomes a destination that offers memorable, quality tourism experiences and provides sustainable economic value.

The success of Ye Live in Jakarta also emphasizes Indonesia’s potential to become a center for international concerts and music festivals, especially in the Asia Pacific region.

Minister Widiyanti expressed his gratitude to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, promoters of the Raw Vision Collective, all workers involved, tourism industry players, MSMEs, as well as the community and music fans who have supported holding the concert.

“The success of Ye Live in Jakarta must be a momentum to bring more international music events to Indonesia. We have an attractive destination, a large market, increasingly professional industry players, and a strong spirit of collaboration.”

“We want Indonesia to not only be a stopover place for world musicians, but also a destination that is always awaited by international tourists. Because when the world music stage comes to Indonesia, the economic benefits must also be felt by the Indonesian people,” she concluded. [traveltext.id]
