INDONESIA’S Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno appointed 29 officials within the Tourism Ministry. The inauguration ceremony was held in a hybrid manner at the Soesilo Soedarman Hall, Sapta Pesona Building, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (5/5).
The inauguration of echelon II officials is an effort of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in structuring the organizational structure, namely with 2 levels at High Leadership Positions, namely Middle JPT and JPT Pratama, and eliminating the level of Administrative Positions (Echelon III and IV) whose duties and functions can be carried out by Functional Officials as stipulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Number 1 of 2021 concerning the Organization and Work Procedure of the Tourism Ministry.
A total of 29 Echelon II Officers who were appointed consisted of the Head of Planning and Finance Bureau; Head of Bureau of Human Resources and Organization; Head of Communication Bureau; Deputy Secretary for Strategic Policy Affairs; Director of Strategic Studies; Director of Regulation; Deputy Secretary for Resources and Institutions; Director of Creative Economy Human Resource Development; Director of Inter-Institutional Relations; Director of Destination Management Deputy for Destination and Infrastructure Development; Director of Creative Economy Infrastructure, Deputy of Destination and Infrastructure Development; Director of Standardization and Business Certification Deputy for Industry and Investment.
Then, there is also the Director of Industrial Management, Deputy for Industry and Investment; Investment Management Director; Archipelago Tourism Marketing Director; Regional Tourism Marketing Director I; Regional Tourism Marketing Director II; Director of Special Interest Tourism; Director of Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions; Director of National and International Events; Regional Event Director; Deputy Secretary for Digital Economy and Creative Economy; Director of Digital Creative Economy Governance; Director of Applications, Games, TV and Radio; Director of Culinary, Craft, Design and Fashion; Music, Film and Animation Director; as well as the Director of Creative Industry Intellectual Property Development.
“I congratulate the officials who are inaugurated today and are ready to immediately carry out their duties and functions to advance the tourism sector and the creative economy, and be able to improve the quality and dedication as well as loyalty so as to improve the overall performance of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy,” said Sandiaga in his remarks.
Sandiaga explained that the process of structuring high-ranking officials was carried out through a competency test with a job fit mechanism carried out by the selection committee. The job fit process is a qualification and competency suitability test that is carried out as a way to determine the leadership to occupy the right position and explore the potential that a person has to occupy that position.
Through the current assignment of echelon II positions, Sandiaga hopes to create a more dynamic and professional bureaucracy as an effort to increase effectiveness and efficiency to support the performance of government services to the public and accelerate the achievement of performance targets for the Ministry of Tourism & Creative Economy.
