IN AN EFFORT to support the implementation of the Group of Twenty (G20) forum until October 2022, several regions in Indonesia are ready to hold side events. The holding of the G20 side event is one step to highlight a positive image as well as promote the diversity of culture and tourism that Indonesia has.
In other words, holding G20 side events in various regions can simultaneously introduce Indonesia to foreign countries. It is hoped that the implementation of the side event will be a moment of “Together Recovery” in improving the economy of local communities in the area.
This is in line with the G20 theme, namely “Recover Together, Recover Stronger”. The following four cities in Indonesia were appointed as the location for the G20 side event. Check out the reviews.
Bali
The first location for the G20 side event is on the Island of the Gods, Bali. There are two G20 side events held here. First, the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) Conference on 21-24 June 2022 with the theme Unlocking Social Investment Opportunities in Indonesia and Beyond Proposed Engagement for 2022: The Asian Decade.
Furthermore, the 2022 World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) will be held on October 1-7 2022. The WCCE in Bali has the theme Inclusively Creative: A Global Recovery which aims to strengthen the creative economy issues in order to restore the global economy.
Labuan Bajo
The location for the next G20 2022 side event is Labuan Bajo. One of the locations for the G20 side event in Labuan Bajo is the Creative Hub Puncak Waringin, West Manggarai Regency.
Puncak Waringin has become a symbol of the center for collaboration and exchanging information for creative economy players as well as creating a multiplier effect to build a creative ecosystem. Puncak Waringin is expected to become a leading sector, improve the economy, as well as create job opportunities.
Interestingly, Labuan Bajo offers a non-substantive G20 side event in the form of tour packages. Later, each tour package is equipped with various interesting activities, ranging from sailing, snorkeling, seeing Komodo dragons, swimming, to visiting tourist villages or beaches.
Jakarta
Besides Bali and Labuan Bajo, Jakarta was appointed as the location for the substantive G20 side event for the Finance Group.
Some of the G20 side events that will take place in Jakarta, including the National Fintech Week (PKN) in April 2022, Indonesian Creative Works (KKI) in May 2022, and the International Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF) which is planned to be held in November 2022.
Solo
Solo was also chosen to be one of the locations for the G20 side event. The G20 side event activity in Solo is the International Wellness Tourism Conference Festival (IWTCF) with the theme Recover and Stronger with Wellness.
The purpose of the IWTCF implementation at the G20 side event is to promote cooperation and collaboration in restoring sustainable tourism and health. The trick is to create a quality trip and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Basically, there are many other cities that have also been appointed as the location for the 2022 G20 side event. These include Lake Toba, Borobudur (Magelang) area, Mandalika, Likupang, Bintan, Batu, Surabaya, Bogor, Makassar, Palembang, Belitung, Banjarmasin, Sorong, and Pontianak. [kompas.com/photo special]
