THE NUSANTARA National Capital Authority (IKN) collaborates with the world technology company, Microsoft, to make the archipelago a capital city with a smart city concept that emphasizes digital technology.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) was carried out on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 in San Francisco, California, United States. This took place ahead of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) high-level conference (Summit).
The company founded by Bill Gates will participate in the digital transformation process at IKN. Microsoft is the largest computer operating systems and software company.
The Windows computers operating system is one of Microsoft’s products that is most widely known to the public. Microsoft Office software is also widely used. Microsoft also makes a number of products ranging from Microsoft Surface tablets, game consoles to mobile phones.
The IKN authority was represented by Deputy for Green and Digital Transformation, Mohammed Ali Berawi and Regional Vice President & Chief Legal Counsel Asia Corporate External & Legal Affairs, Mike Yeh.
Head of the IKN Authority Bambang Susantono, who also witnessed the MoU, was accompanied by Director of Green Transformation Tonny Agus Setiono, Special Staff for Knowledge Management Indrayanto Cahyadi and Communications Expert and Spokesperson for the IKN Authority Troy Pantouw.
