TOKYO Disney theme parks and Universal Studios in Japan will increase the maximum number of visitors allowed daily from 5,000 to 10,000 from Friday (10/1), towards the end of Japan’s COVID-19 state of emergency.
However, the operator of Disneyland and DisneySea Tokyo, Oriental Land.Co., said it would continue to enforce the shortened operating hours from 10 am to 7 pm.
“We will continue to operate the playground according to the request of the government and local authorities, prioritizing the health and safety of guests and employees,” the operator was quoted as saying by Kyodo.
Alcohol sales are expected to continue gradually at the three playgrounds. The Japanese government recently decided to end the COVID-19 state of emergency in Tokyo and 18 other prefectures.
At the end of September 2020, Disneyland presented a new area of the film “Beauty and the Beast” which was delayed due to the pandemic. One of the attractions is the 30-meter-high castle in an area built since 2017. [antaranews/photo special]
