THE MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy supports the fashion show “Gantari: The Final Journey to Java” which will be held at Prambanan Temple, Yogyakarta, as an effort to market Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) products made by traditional craftsmen in the form of batik, jumputan, and lurik woven fabrics. natural fiber raw.
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno during the Weekly Press Briefing which was held in a hybrid manner at the Sapta Pesona Building, Jakarta, explained that the Gantari fashion show: The Final Journey to Java is a collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the Borobudur Authority Agency and LAKON Indonesia which will feature 125 collections. ready-to-wear cloth handcrafted by traditional craftsmen which will be demonstrated by 100 models.
“This event is also part of the commemoration of National Batik Day which falls every October 2. I hope this event can really help to encourage the preservation of culture, especially traditional Indonesian textiles which have been successfully realized in various forms. Not only in the batik and fashion sectors, Gantari involves 1000 creative economy players to reactivate the creative industry during this pandemic,” said Sandiaga Uno.
During the Weekly Press Briefing, MinisterSandiaga Uno was accompanied by the Deputy for Marketing of the Ministry of Tourism, Nia Niscaya, Founder of LAKON Indonesia Thresia Mareta, and Director of Creative Economy Marketing, Yuana Rochma Astuti.

The Gantari fashion show itself is a continuation of the ClothingKoe event, the previous presentation of LAKON Indonesia which was held on November 15, 2020 ago in the SCBD area, Jakarta.
