HOTEL INDUSTRY IN BALI CLEAN ENERGY USERS ARE NOW MORE EXPANSIVE

PERTAMINA Gas sub-holding through its affiliate PT Pertagas Niaga (PTGN) is expanding the use of natural gas energy for the hotel industry in Bali. One of them on Tuesday (6/210), Pertagas Niaga distributed Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to Prime Plaza Hotel Sanur and Prime Plaza Suites Sanur, Bali.

This hotel is the second hotel in Bali after The Trans Hotel Bali, Badung, which started using CNG in April 2022. The use of CNG for this hotel is a form of utilizing natural gas as a transition energy that is more environmentally friendly and supports cost efficiency for industry players.

According to the President Director of PT Pertagas Niaga, Aminuddin in his press statement said that we are happy that the hotel industry in Bali has received a very good response to switch to natural gas energy. Pertagas Niaga is proud to have a role in making Bali a tourism industry that is not only beautiful but also concerned with the environment.

“I am optimistic that this step in the near future will be followed by the hotel, restaurant and other cafĂ© industries in Bali as the benefits felt by consumers are proven,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sandy Rachmat, GM of Prime Plaza Hotel Sanur and Prime Plaza Suites Sanur said we hope this collaboration with PTGN will provide more value for our hotels in supporting green tourism in Bali.

CNG for the Bali hotel industry is sent from East Java through a synergy with the transporter PT Pertamina Patra Logistik. Arriving at Mengwi Terminal, Badung CNG was then transferred to the more flexible and dynamic CNG Cradle mode. Currently, the volume of CNG for distribution in Bali is 5,000 m3/month and is predicted to increase significantly with improving conditions after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Apart from Bali, PTGN currently supplies CNG for industrial needs in South Sumatra, East Kalimantan and Java with a total distribution of 500,000 MMBTU/month. CNG is generally chosen to meet gas energy needs whose areas have not been connected to a gas pipeline network. [traveltext.id]
