MINISTER of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno said the F1 Powerboat H2O event which will be held on Lake Toba can make tourist destinations in North Sumatra aligned with other world tourist destinations. Because the sport tourism event is international standard.
“We are sure that this attraction will trigger and spur Lake Toba as a superior destination that can be aligned with other world destinations and become an addition to Bali, becoming a must visit destination for Indonesia,” Sandiaga said at a webinar on the preparation of the F1 Powerboat Championship event “Adu Cepat on Lake Toba.”
He added, Lake Toba was chosen as the location for F1 Powerboat H20 because it is a super priority destination that has beautiful natural and cultural scenery with a diverse community.
In addition, he continued, despite being a super priority destination in Indonesia, Lake Toba needs a world-class event to increase its attractiveness for tourists, after Mandalika with the Moto GP and Borobudur with the ASEAN Tourism Forum. Mandalika and Borobudur are also super priority destinations.
