MINISTRY DRAWS ON THE POTENTIAL OF BALINESE EKRAF FOR QUALITY EMPLOYMENT

THE Ministry of Creative Economy (Ekraf) in Bali is exploring the potential of local creative industries to create quality jobs.

According to Teuku Riefky Harsya, the Minister of Creative Economy, attended the Talenta Ekraf Community Meeting Forum in Bali and said that the diversity of creative economic (ekraf) actors in Bali could set an example for other regions. He added that collaboration between the central and regional governments is crucial for encouraging the growth of this sector.

“Currently, the difficulty of finding employment is not only due to the impact of global economic problems; there is also a shift in the work trend that is moving more into the creative industry,” he said.

He explained that, according to reports from a major Indonesian university, as many as 60% of graduates from various faculties become creative industry workers. This has also become a phenomenon of concern to the Ministry of Manpower.

“This forum is used to identify the needs and challenges faced by local creative talents. The results will form the basis for preparing more targeted training and assistance programs,” Harsa pointed out.

The Ministry of Creative Economy is committed to supporting local ecosystems by providing training and strengthening the capacity of creative industry players. They hope to demonstrate that the creative economy can open quality jobs and become the new engine of growth.

“This activity is the first step in developing strategic programs based on regional needs. We hope to strengthen the sustainability of the creative economy sector at the regional and national levels,” he concluded.

Throughout 2024, the Ministry of Creative Economy (Ekraf) has accompanied 81 Creative Hub in various regions of Indonesia, including Bali, as a center for the development of talents and filling in the creative economy subsector content. [traveltext.id]
