PRESIDENT Prabowo Subianto started 2026 with a retreat with the Red and White Cabinet to evaluate the government’s performance throughout 2025. In addition, President Prabowo invited him to formulate strategic steps to answer national challenges and accelerate future development.
“I express my appreciation to all of you with facts on the ground that can be measured, can be held and can be seen. The Indonesian nation must be independent, the Indonesian nation must stand on our own feet,” said President Prabowo at a retreat at Padepokan Garuda Yaksa, Hambalang, Bogor Regency on Tuesday, (01/6), 2026.
President Prabowo also emphasized that the government’s focus in the future will be directed at strengthening food security, improving people’s welfare, as well as continuing priority programs that directly touch the needs of the community.
In line with this direction, the Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency is taking advantage of the momentum of the Christmas holiday to strengthen the distribution and consumption of creative economy products by conducting inspections in Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java and Yogyakarta.
“The creative economy has proven itself to be a real contributor to the national economy. Its growth exceeds the national average and shows that Indonesia’s greatest potential grows from the regions,” said Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky.
Apart from that, the Ministry of Creative Economy is also paying serious attention to post-disaster recovery in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra. Economic and humanitarian recovery continues to be encouraged to ensure that creative and creative economy activists can get back on their feet.
The programs prepared include Batik Creation Training, Creative Residency, Cooking Training with Masters, Ready to Wear Clothing Sewing Workshop, Acceleration of Embroidery and Weaving Crafts, and Packaging Design Workshop for creative and creative activities. Apart from that, painting activities for children were held as part of art-based psychosocial recovery.
“Recovery of the creative economy must be carried out holistically, not only rebuilding production, but also restoring hope and competitiveness among actors,” concluded Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky.
Throughout 2025, the Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency recorded positive performance. This achievement was supported by the realization of the Main Performance Index (IKU), strengthening priority programs, utilizing the momentum of the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays, as well as steps to restore the creative economy after the disaster. Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that the creative economy sector absorbs 27.4 million workers or 107 percent of the 2025 target, more than half of these workers are under 40 years old.
Positive performance was also seen in the export sector. Until October 2025, the value of creative economy exports will reach US$26.68 billion or 11.96% of total national non-oil and gas exports, the highest in the last five years. Meanwhile, investment realization in the creative and creative sector up to the third quarter of 2025 was recorded at IDR132.04 trillion or 107% of the RPJMN target. [traveltext.id]
