INDUSTRY MINISTRY WILL INVITE 170 INDUSTRIES TO THE HANNOVER MESSE 2020

THE Ministry of Industry will bring 170 industries in Indonesia to the world’s largest industrial technology exhibition Hannover Messe held on April 20-24, 2020 in Hannover, Germany. The Indonesian pavilion at the exhibition reached 3,000 square meters.

According to the Director General of Regional Resilience and International Industrial Access of the Ministry of Industry, Doddy Rahadi in Jakarta, said the preparation of Indonesia to become the partner country of the Hannover Messe 2020 has been started since 2018. Various stages have been carried out by the Government of Indonesia, particularly the Ministry of Industry.

Through the press release of the Director General of General of Regional Resilience and International Industrial Access of the Ministry of Industry, in addition to promoting the national industry, the Indonesian delegation will also present research institutes and startups, as well as hold seminars and conferences, both in the Indonesian pavilion and in other activities scheduled by the organizer.

The Indonesian Pavilion with the theme of Making Indonesia 4.0 will be divided into three areas, namely the General Purposes Area (Conference, Business Meeting area), Making Indonesia 4.0 Area, and the Hannover Messe Display Category Area.

The theme, he said, was chosen to show the world that Indonesia already has a blueprint for implementing the 4.0 industry strategy in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the tagline “Connect to Accelerate”, he continued, is an invitation and invitation to all stakeholders at home and abroad to work together with the aim of accelerating the growth of Indonesia’s industry.

A number of companies in the five sectors that are priorities in Making Indonesia 4.0 will participate, including industries that will appear in the Hannover Messe display category, namely Automation, Motion and Drives, Digital Ecosystems, Energy Solutions, Engineered Parts & Solutions, and Future Hub.

“Hannover Messe is the right place to show the ability of the Indonesian manufacturing sector in the eyes of the world, especially in the transformation towards the industrial era 4.0,” said Doddy.

Industrial Era 4.0 provides enormous opportunities for the development of the manufacturing industry. Therefore, in 2018 the Government of Indonesia launched the “Making Indonesia 4.0” initiative as a road map to build a globally competitive industry in the digital age to achieve the target of becoming the 10th largest economy in the world by 2030.

Previously, Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita held a meeting with Deutsche Messe AG as the operator of the Hannover Messe exhibition, represented by the Director of International Relations of Deutsche Messe AG, Marco Siebert to finalize Indonesia’s readiness at the Hannover Messe 2020.

Indonesia is the first country in the ASEAN region to become an official partner country. The previous official country partners were Sweden (2019), Mexico (2018), Poland (2017), the United States (2016) and India (2015).

The Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto in a coordination meeting for the preparation of Hannover Messe a few days ago said, Indonesia hoped that the business deal of this event would be able to generate cooperation and investment to advance the Indonesian economy. “The election of Indonesia as the official country partner in the exhibition shows recognition of the ability of the Indonesian manufacturing industry sector,” he added.

In 2019, the Hannover Messe exhibition will be able to attract 215,000 visitors from 91 countries, with more than 6,500 exhibitors representing 73 countries. The event resulted in around 5.6 million business contracts. [antaranews]
