MINISTRY URGES TOURISM & CREATIVE ECONOMY INDUSTRY COMPLY LSSR IN JAKARTA

THE Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy calls on the tourism and the creative economy industry to actively carry out a data collection process to channel stimulus assistance and comply with the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (LSSR) policy in DKI Jakarta.

According to Tourism and Creative Economy Minister, Wishnutama Kusubandio in his official press release explained, Tourism Ministry has reallocated a budget of IDR500 billion to support the handling of COVID-19, such as cooperation with the hospitality and transportation industry in providing accommodation for health workers, fabric mask movement, public invitations to maintain distance, online training and to coordinate with relevant ministries/institutions in stimulus policies for industry.

“For this reason, the perpetrators of Tourism & Creative Economy I request to immediately report to the Integrated Crisis Center as a channel of communication and education for the community through the contact center COVlD-19 +628118956767 whatsapp or email info@kemenparekraf.go.id,” Wishnutama said.

Wishnutama also explained that his party continues to strive to collect labor data, both from the department, associations, industry, musicians’ association, film producers, performing arts, and others so that the data collection on pre-work cards being carried out can be on target.

The data will later be cross-checked with other ministries/institutions so that there is no duplication of data so that workers who receive the benefits of the pre-employment card are more widespread.

Tourism Ministry also received a report that there were obstacles to data collection. As an example of data entering Indonesian Hotel & Restaurant Association (PHRI) there are currently 1,266 hotels forced to close in 31 provinces. Out of 1,266 new hotels, 844 hotels and 74,101 employees were recorded.

“We continue to try to collect both formal and informal workers. The formal one is that we continue to coordinate with the Ministry of Manpower and the informal one we can handle. Data entered in the team, there were 80,000 data entered. We hope that after the clean Snyc process will increase to 120,000 workers. That number is a combination of informal workers, Termination of Employment and laid off. Artists from the Indonesian musicians federation, the association of film and television employees are also included,” he noted.

In addition, Wishnutama also appealed that the public and Tourism & Creative Economy practitioners adhere to the application of the status of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (LSSR) in DKI Jakarta which will take place from 10 April 2020 to 14 days after it was implemented. The restrictions that have been made such as the cessation of worship activities in houses of worship, appeals for work and school from home, to restrictions on modes of transportation.

“Restrictions on movement and interaction in the capital will greatly affect the ability of the capital to control the spread of the corona virus. Let us build enthusiasm and optimism. With a positive attitude I hope conditions will get better. After the COVID-19 pandemic, I also hope that the tourism sector and the creative economy will be much better,” Wishnutama concluded.
