WELLNESS TOURISM IS INCREASINGLY POPULAR, COMBINES YOGA & NATURE

THE POST-pandemic has made traveling a part of an essential lifestyle for all age groups, and tourist destinations in various regions are again warmly welcoming tourists. Focusing on improving physical, mental and spiritual health, fitness tourism has succeeded in attracting tourists with a variety of activities that not only pamper the eyes but also promote improvement in body condition.

According to data from the Partnership for Australia Indonesia Research, tourist preference for nature and wellness tourism or what is commonly called wellness tourism is predicted to continue to increase. This will contribute to revenue in the nature-based lodging and camping industry of up to US$100 billion and an annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.9%.

But unfortunately, the number of accommodations that support people’s needs and interest in wellness tourism is still relatively limited. The Global Wellness Institute revealed that even though Indonesia has the largest market potential in Southeast Asia, this country still ranks 19th as a fitness tourism destination.

And that means that there is still great potential to develop wellness tourism in Indonesia, especially as consumer interest continues to increase. Responding to this condition, technology-based accommodation startup Bobobox in the first half of this year launched one of the newest accommodation locations, namely Bobocabin Ubud, Bali.

Unlike other Bobobox products, Bobocabin Ubud is designed to optimize the experience of the quiet natural charm of Tegallalang, supporting the revitalization of each guest’s mental and physical health, or what is familiarly called wellbeing.

This accommodation, which is located in Kedisan Village, Tegallalang, Gianyar, Bali, has 33 cabins consisting of Executive and Deluxe types. Each room is equipped with facilities such as bathroom with hot water shower, complete toiletries, tea set, smart B-Pad tablet that can adjust the sound system, room light and cabin window privacy to support the quality of guest rest while enjoying the green scenery.

The reason Bobobox presents this facility in Ubud is because Bali is one of the most popular wellness tourism centers among global tourists. From the beginning until April 2023, the Central Bureau of Statistics recorded 1.43 million foreign tourists visiting Bali.

Apart from providing comfortable, unique and fully equipped accommodation, Bobocabin Ubud also offers a variety of additional activities to support quality rest and support consumer wellbeing.

Bobocabin Ubud features campfire facilities, activity swings, and communal spaces that can be accessed by every guest who stays. Not only that, various activities to build mindfulness within yourself can also be done at Bobocabin Ubud, one of which is yoga.

Bobocabin Ubud’s commitment to creating a tourism forum that supports quality rest and supports wellbeing is one way to do this by holding a Yoga Retreat on June 2, 3 and 4 2023.

In accordance with the concept promoted by Bobobox, namely Travel With A Purpose, this event aims to invite yoga lovers and consumers in general to interact more closely with themselves and nature through various activities.

All activities during the Yoga Retreat at Bobocabin Ubud are expected to have a positive impact on physical and mental health and build a more stable soul with mindfulness practices.

Bayu Ramadhan, Bobobox’s Chief Commercial Officer, recently explained that this initiative is one of Bobobox’s ways of introducing Bobocabin Ubud as the perfect destination for travelers with the need for a quiet, beautiful and unique wellness-themed holiday. Bobocabin Ubud can also be the right choice of accommodation for yoga lovers visiting Bali.

“Bobocabin Ubud offers complete accommodation amidst green and calming nature. This location is not only suitable for lovers of yoga and wellbeing activities. Bobocabin Ubud is also the perfect holiday destination for solo travelers, tourists traveling with family or couples who want a new atmosphere , away from the bustle of the city,” explained Bayu.

Through Yoga Retreat, Bobocabin Ubud not only invites participants to build a healthier lifestyle, but also collaborates with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM) to empower the surrounding community.

“We hope that Bobocabin Ubud can have a wider positive impact, including domestic and international tourists to get a holiday experience that builds wellbeing while exploring local culture, culinary and destinations,” Bayu concluded. [antaranews]
