INDONESIAN tourists recorded the most visits to Singapore throughout April 2022, with a total of 58,270 people.
According to Manager, Indonesia, International Group Singapore Tourism Board (STB), Indriati Permanasari, at The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place on Tuesday (5/24) said Indonesian tourists have become number one visiting Singapore. In April (2022), we had around 58,270 tourists from Indonesia and that has increased from March (as many as) 13,620 (tourists).
“With this number, Indonesia also surpasses India as the largest source of arrivals to Singapore. The number of tourist visits to Singapore in general has increased. There was an increase of 252% in the first quarter of 2022, when compared to the same period in the previous year,” she said.
Indriati Permanasari explained that this was supported by an increase in foreign tourist arrivals from month to month in a row, from January 2022 to April 2022. There were around 294,300 visitors in Singapore in April 2022, up from 121,200 in March 2022.
However, this number is still low when compared to April 2019 or before the COVID-19 pandemic, which was 1.6 million people.
“Singapore is one of the countries that have relaxed border requirements, especially under the Vaccinated Travel Framework (VTF) scheme. Tourists who have been vaccinated in full doses can enter the Lion Country without quarantine requirements and COVID-19 tests,” she concluded. [special photo]
