FCE MEETING 2026 PREPARES THE ‘JAKARTA VISION’ FOR GLOBAL CREATIVE ECONOMY

THE FRIENDS of Creative Economy (FCE) Meeting 2026 served as a forum for national representatives and creative economy stakeholders to define the future direction of the global creative economy. Held in Jakarta on Wednesday (10/21), 2026, the meeting was part of the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) series, which centered on the theme “Inclusively Creative: Collective Continuity.”

Discussions at the FCE Meeting 2026 focused on four strategic issues that form the basis for the “Jakarta Vision on Creative Economy.” These issues include: leveraging technology and artificial intelligence to enhance human creativity; adopting circular and regenerative practices to support sustainability; developing an inclusive creative ecosystem that empowers communities; and protecting intellectual property to ensure that creators receive a fairer share of economic value.

“I hope we can use this meeting as a space for policy dialogue on the creative economy—a place where we can speak openly, exchange experiences, discuss the current state and future of the global creative economy, and formulate collective steps to advance the Jakarta Vision.

Ultimately, the Jakarta Vision is not the end of our conversation; it must serve as the foundation for our future actions,” stated the Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, at the Hotel Kempinski, Jakarta, on Wednesday (October 21).

Beyond serving as a venue for policy dialogue, the FCE Meeting 2026 created greater opportunities for stakeholders to strengthen international collaboration and determine follow-up actions beyond the WCCE.

The Jakarta Vision on Creative Economy is expected to provide a framework for bolstering the position of the creative economy within the global development agenda, including by fostering further discussions at the United Nations (UN) level.

Involving 472 participants from 64 countries and 7 international organizations, the FCE Meeting 2026 serves as a pivotal moment to garner international support for the drafting of the “Jakarta Vision on Creative Economy.”

This support is expected to provide a strong foundation for proposing the document as a United Nations resolution, while simultaneously positioning the creative economy as a priority within the global development agenda beyond the conclusion of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2030.

“The document we are currently drafting, titled ‘Jakarta Vision on Creative Economy’—developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs—is intended to be proposed as a UN resolution.

The goal is for the creative economy to become a priority development program globally in the post-SDG era,” concluded Teuku Riefky.

Subsequently, the document will be addressed further during the WCCE Ministerial Meeting. This process is a crucial step in ensuring that ideas and perspectives from various nations and international organizations are synthesized into a shared vision for the development of the global creative economy.
