MUSIC MATTERS CONCERT AS A MEDIA FOR PROMOTING INDONESIAN TOURISM

MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy supports the implementation of the “Music Matters from Wonderful Indonesia” concert as a medium to promote tourism destinations in Indonesia to an international audience.

According to the Deputy for Tourism Products and Events Organizers of the Ministry of Tourism, Rizki Handayani said the concert would be held on 4-6 December 2020 in three super priority destinations (DSP) in Indonesia, namely Borobudur Temple in Central Java, Lake Toba in North Sumatra, and Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara.

“This concert aims to introduce the diverse tourism potential of the country. The concert also combines the promotion of super priority destinations in Indonesia and Indonesian talents which are then collaborated with international musicians,” Rizki said.

Rizki revealed that the concert was carried out by Tourism Ministry in collaboration with PK Entertainment and BRANDED. This effort is also expected to revive the enthusiasm of tourism and creative industry actors, especially those engaged in the music and performing arts sub-sectors. Given that currently there is a decline in the performance of the country’s tourism sector and creative industry due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This event will be a trigger for other performing arts in a new era of normality. In addition, this concert proves the creativity and innovation of industry players in the field of performance in creating opportunities in the midst of a pandemic,” she noted.

In addition, Rizki added that the concert would be proof for the foreign public that Indonesia’s tourism industry and creative economy were reviving after the COVID-19 epidemic. This concert also contains teasers of tourism potential in Indonesia to attract foreign tourist arrivals in the future.

Meanwhile, the Director of PK Entertainment, Harry Sudarma, said that the audience can watch the concert for free. The concert will be broadcast and can be watched for free via the Tourism Ministry and Branded YouTube channel and Facebook Live from the @MusicMatters2ME page starting at 19.00 WIB.

The concert will be enlivened by various well-known Indonesian musicians including Danilla Riyadi, Andmesh Kamaleng, Isyana Sarasvati, as well as the music group Weird Genius, and PADI Reborn. Several international musicians also participated in this concert, namely Kurt Hugo Schneider, Ni / Co, Jules Aurora, and Sam Tsui.

On this occasion, singer Danilla Riyadi explained that this was a new experience for herself and the performers. We usually perform virtually in the studio, but now we have a virtual concert but with a beautiful Indonesian scenery as the background. This is something new and wonderful for us musicians.
