ENCOURAGING TOURISM, MINISTRY PREPARES ‘BOOK NOW TRAVEL LATER’ PROGRAM

THE Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism & Creative Economy has prepared a program entitled Book Now Travel Later as an effort to encourage the recovery of the tourism sector and the creative economy in Indonesia.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, in his statement said we have compiled and prepared the Book Now Travel Later program as a recovery plan for tourism business players in Indonesia.

“Through this program, it is hoped that tourism industry players can get financial assistance that will help their cash flow in various tourism businesses. I also invite people to start planning their vacations and tours by keeping strict guidelines and implementing health protocols,” he said.

He added that I am particularly aware that the movement of people is believed to increase significantly during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Good for holidays or homecoming and backflow. Therefore, all parties need to be highly disciplined in carrying out strict health protocols so that people can do activities but remain safe from COVID-19.

“Although this has a good impact on the tourism sector and has a multiplier effect, I remind the public and tourism businesses to be really disciplined in implementing health protocols with a high sense of care and responsibility,” Wishnutama Kusubandio noted.

He hopes that tourists will implement health protocols to prevent transmission of COVID-19. Likewise with parekraf actors to carry out the Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) protocol seriously.

“For tourism business actors, carry out the CHSE health protocol seriously, in order to prevent the risk of spreading COVID-19. For those who are going on vacation, travel responsibly. First independent test, either through rapid antigen or SWAB PCR, in order to protect ourselves, as well as others,”  Wishnutama noted.

Previously, the COVID-19 Task Force in its circular asked the public to obey and be disciplined in carrying out health protocols during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito, said the provision was based on Circular Letter (SE) Number 3 of 2020 which is valid from 19 December to 8 January 2021.

In Circular Number 3 of 2020, at least three main points of obligation for citizens who wish to travel during the Christmas and New Year 2021 holidays are recorded.

First, every individual who travels for people is required to apply and comply with 3M’s health protocols, namely wearing masks, maintaining distance, avoiding crowds, and washing hands with soap or using hand sanitizers.

Second, the tightening of health protocols along the way that needs to be done is the use of masks that must properly cover the nose and mouth with a type of 3-layer cloth mask or medical mask. It is prohibited to eat and drink during the flight for a trip of less than 2 hours, except for individuals who are required to take medication for their safety and health.

Third, domestic travelers must follow a number of provisions, such as tourists who go to Bali by air transportation are required to show a negative result certificate using the RT-PCR test no later than 7 x 24 hours before departure as a travel requirement and fill out Indonesia’s e-HAC.
