THE GOV’T COMPLETES OF TOURISM RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES IN MANDALIKA

THE MINISTRY of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Nusa Tenggara I Housing Provision Agency (P2P) of the Directorate General of Housing has completed improving the quality of uninhabitable houses into Tourism Residential Facilities (Sarhunta) in Mandalika Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara Province (NTB). 398 units ahead of the 2021 World Superbike event.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the government believes the main economic sector that can rebound quickly is tourism.

“In this regard, the Ministry of PUPR has renovated residents’ houses so that they are suitable for homestays in tourist areas, so that local people are not only spectators, but can enjoy tourism cakes,” said PUPR Minister Basuki in a written statement received in Jakarta, Wednesday (11/10).

The implementation of Sarhunta construction at the Mandalika KSPN totals 915 units consisting of 00 units in Central Lombok Regency, Mandalika, to support international motorcycle racing events and 98 units in North Lombok Regency. While the remaining 517 units were carried out to improve the quality of uninhabitable houses along the entrance corridor in the Mandalika area.

Section Head of Region 2 West Nusa Tenggara Balai P2P NT I Dudi Mustofa said the concept of improving the quality of housing is empowering, so that the community is involved in the implementation process, starting from technical planning to activities, with a budget of IDR18 bilion and the remaining IDR44 billion for building materials.

“The need to improve the quality of Sarhunta is a maximum of IDR115 million per unit, so it varies greatly, there are those whose needs are only IDR90 million, some are maximized by IDR115 million. Then homeowners must also contribute to adding other equipment,” said Dudi.

The Sarhunta has an international standard homestay with an area of ​​12-sqm, plus an international standard bathroom.

“The types of houses being developed are local wisdom concepts such as Bale Lumbung and Bale Bonter. So, the concept is a barn house and puts forward the concept of the Sasak tribe,” said Dudi.

The existence of the Sarhunta is expected in addition to supporting the Mandalika Lombok NTB Super Priority Tourism Destination (DPSP), it can also be an alternative residence for tourists who will visit NTB during the World Superbike international racing event on 19-21 November 2021 and the upcoming 2022 MotoGP.
